The Brand
When coming up with a domain for my brand, I initially sought words that meant 'petite' or 'small,' originally naming it "poco". My original vision was to focus on representing petite clothing, so that myself and other women alike would always have clothes to wear from my website without having to pay more for alterations. As a 4'11 woman I have always struggled finding outfits that would fit me, at times even cutting and tucking in my clothes to make it work. As a seamstress for Vanity Fair my grandmother created most of my costumes growing up, whether it was for a school play, halloween, or just playing dress-up with my sisters.
I soon realized that I disliked the association with feeling small and waited for a different name to come to me. It wasn't until I improved my posture through intense physical training that people began to notice my clothing. Strengthening my body forced me to stand and sit up straight which influenced how others perceived my personality - strong, self-assured, and confident.
My collection is now available to order online.
In good confidence,
Erica Faye Burns
